Automatic covers are also referred to as safety covers and are the ultimate safety barrier when the pool is not in use. Automatic covers ARE NOT considered safety covers IF there is water on top of the cover from rain or snow. Most service calls on automatic covers are caused by pool owners not keeping the top of the cover free of water, improperly opening/closing the cover, or operating the cover when the water level in the pool is too low. Automatic covers can save 100’s or even 1,000’s of dollars per year in chemical and heating costs.
